Olive oil tourism in the land of wines
The ‘big brother’ to the grapevine of the Rioja Alavesa: THE OLIVE TREE.
For centuries, and more or less rooted, the silent friend offers us his beautiful fruit and rich juice, otherwise known as ‘LIQUID GOLD’.
The ERROIZ oil press invites you to immerse yourself in the history of the olive tree from the Rioja Alavesa. Come with us and learn about the evolution of the olive tree and the diverse manufacturing processes of our oil.
Enjoy the lively flavor of our ARRONIZ olive oil with us!

Olive oil has always been one of the biggest traditional products of the Rioja Alavesa.
This is why our fields are surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, decorating the hills from above our valleys. During today’s visit, we will see some of these trees, learn about their history and the characteristics of our variety of olive: the Arroniz.
However, these olives would not be so important if it wasn’t for our capacity to make oil from them. It is a continuous process of which Lanciego is the living reflection. Our local olive oil press is proof of this, as it is the last oil press leftover from the 19th century that continues to work every year. An oil press full of history, of aromas and tradition.
Finally, we will take a leap in time to the modern-day, and see an oil press of the latest generation and we will learn about the various processes that our extra virgin olive oil goes through. Every stage requires a process of careful elaboration, all centered on producing the best of oils.
We will finish the visit with an ‘olive oil tasting’, where we will learn to differentiate and appreciate the most special of oils.
